ERICEIRA

WHERE THE OCEAN IS MOST BLUE

This beautiful seaside town, once home for the Phoenicians, became the county of Ericeira in 1229. By then, seafarers, royalty, and wanderers had already enjoyed the same beaches, valleys, and bays as we do today. It is common to hear the following sentence: "Ericeira, where the ocean is most blue."

In 2011, Ericeira became Europe's first World Surf Reserve and second worldwide. Honored with an 8 km shoreline brimming with world-class surf spots and one of the most preserved surf havens on the planet, Ericeira is a must-go if you are a surf lover.

This ancient fisherman village has a fantastic coastline, exploring it is a must. You will find eight different beaches where you can sunbathe, fall asleep to the relaxing sound of the waves, have a meal with a sea view, or toast to the sunset and another well-spent day.

If you enjoy walking or biking, there are a few off-road tracks that you can use to get to know the village and its surrounding areas; there are a few rent-a-bike shops that also have scooters available.

Here, you have the most incredible blend of tradition and excitement, which you can find in the narrow cobbled streets. Quirky houses, traditional and modern restaurants serving the most delicious food, Cafes, bakeries, shops, markets, and warm-hearted people who will keep you coming back for more are a constant in this place. During the summer, the streets will have live music, street fairs, and bars open until 2:00 am, seven days a week. And if you have the energy, you can hit the Club most nights past 7:00 am. If you seek more adventure, you can enjoy the skatepark, one of the elected spots to watch the sun setting, especially on Fridays, where you can enjoy it with live music.
